What is Chevron Amethyst?

If you are looking to learn more about the properties of, and chevron amethyst meaning then read on! I'll also cover what chevron amethyst typically looks like including other stones it grows with, nicknames and a bit more on its history.

What does Chevron Amethyst look like?

Chevron Amethyst is a combination of milky white quartz crystal and amethyst (purple quartz). Chevron amethyst will always have a V-shaped banded pattern created with alternating layers of the white quartz and amethyst. This crystal can be opaque and or transparent and white with deep purple and-or lavender. It can sometimes form with smoky quartz as well. It will feel rough, bumpy, and cool to the touch. But it does police up very nicely! It rates a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale (it can scratch glass).

Amethyst is the most popular gem in the world. This crystal forms in large cracks of the earth. When silica-rich fluids flow through the cracks and cool, these quartz crystals form on the rock.
