The gemstone tumbles do not touch the water as they are protected with a glass case, it is much safer to infuse your water with crystals this way. Here is a list of crystals you don't want in water.
The size and coloring of the crystal chips will vary slightly between the crystal types, some are fine and some are chunky.
Shipping on these is kinda pricey for their size (they are heavy), but you can add other small items and shipping likely will stay the same!
